Rooms

There are two terminal rooms available for conference delegates to plug in their laptops. The primary room is 280A adjacent to the Secretariat on the second floor of the Law School. This contains approximately 36 RJ45 ethernet taps into the Stanford network. DHCP is used to assign you an IP address.

You will need to configure your laptop to use DHCP.

A backup for laptop connections is in the Observers Room, Room 290. These are in the back rows of the room and allow use of the laptops while watching the speakers via the video feed.

Neither of these rooms has its own printer. You will need to select one in the Terminal Rooms, 271 or 272.

If you are in need of human assistance there will always be knowledgeable conference staff patrolling the rooms.

Printing from your laptop at the conference

Regrettably  we have not yet quite figured out how to let you print directly from your Windows or Linux laptop! Hopefully soon!

MindSpringAd.gif (3904 bytes) ISP for dialup in the Bay Area

We have set up a time-limited service for you to have a local dialup service through Mindspring. Please do not stay connected when you are not using the service. You can use it by just setting your dialup adaptor.

Find the local access numbers and then use the account name lp99@mindspring.com (the account name really includes the "@mindspring.com"! The account and password are in lower case.). Here are the most likely set (Peninsula cities) you need to choose from:

City Access Number
Palo Alto 650-618-0177
Mountain View 650-963-0177
San Jose - North 408-889-0177
San Mateo 650-523-0177
San Carlos 650-590-0177
San Francisco 415-376-0177

The password is posted in the terminal rooms. You can use their mail SMTP server,  mail.mindspring.com for outgoing mail. If you need domain name servers (DNS), use 207.69.188.185 or 207.69.188.186.
